- We like a stick of cinnamon in a hot mug of apple cider.
- If you use a fine grater, you can literally grate your own cinnamon for any dish calling for it. Apple pie, cinnamon toast, oatmeal, hot chocolate, top of some whipped cream on pudding, crush and put into hot coffee, etc. The sky is the limit. Word to the wise: It would be more beneficial to put a small pot of water on low and simmer a stick or two of the cinnamon rather than actually burn it. P.S. I know you can physically eat raw ginger but it is not recommended as it is very fibrous and difficult to digest without having been cooked. It is spicy as well. Make some tea or even some stir fry with it next time.
- tell your friend to make his last request. he gon die.
- Yes, you can eat raw ginger. It's also declicious to make ginger candy with fresh ginger root. Cinnamon sticks are kind of hard to work with. Basically, they are grated with a fine grater to get powder but it's impractical to get a large amount of cinnamon powder that way. It's best to grate it on top of hot beverages. Or you could also boil a few sticks in apple juice/cider to make a hot, tasty treat.
- I use to use them for straws in hot chocolate.
- yes you can eat raw ginger. i would recommend boiling ginger with the cinnamon sticks for cinnamon ginger tea. or boil the cinnamon sticks with apple cider or juice.
- when I was in high school we used to go to a soda shop that served hot Dr.Pepper and used a cinnimon stick for a stirrer.Delish
- grind great milkshake topper
- Raw ginger won't hurt your friend, but it's normally cooked. A lot of stir fry recipes, etc. use the fresh ginger. A lot of Middle Eastern and Greek recipes use cinnamon sticks as well as mulled wines and apple ciders. Search for recipes that use them and I'm sure you'll enjoy. We're making Stiffado, a Greek stew, on Sunday that uses the cinnamon sticks and whole cloves among the seasonings. The cinnamon sticks are removed just before serving!
- First the cinnamon sticks: If you have a blender or even better a coffee grinder that you don't use for coffee, break up the sticks a little and grind them into a powder and the result will be the best cinnamon you have probably ever had. Also, if you like hot chocolate use them as stir sticks for your hot chocolate. You can make hot apple cider by heating the cider with cinnamon and cloves. There are lots of ways to use them whole if you need to flavor something while it is cooking preferably in some sort of liquid to get the most out of the sticks. Look on the internet I am sure you will find more suggestions.
- Stck them in your apple cider and use as a stir stick. Use them to infuse and flavor liquids in dessert recipes. Also instead of burning them take a tea pot or a pan of some kind put in a few cinn sticks, a few whole cloves and peel from a lemon or orange. Leave on a low heat to make your whole house smell good.
- I have done this with many herbal teas. If you like cinnamon then you should try it with your favorite teas. It is great with many such as cranbery, apple, chamomille, etc. Use 3 sticks and steep in the pot with the tea. If too much ...use less. If too little.....steep longer. I have also put it in a pan with water and orange rind and simmer on the stove.Makes the house smell so pretty, especially for the holidays... Good luck!
