I need to attach cinnamon sticks to a candle and I do not have a glue gun any suggestions?

I am putting together a Thanksgiving center piece. I need to get cinnamon sticks attached to some candles so that as the candle burns down you can smell the sweet cinnamon. I do not have a hot glue gun so I am not sure what to do.

1. Tie the cinammon sticks in place with bit of ribbon or raffia. It will look very festive. Put a rubber band in place first to hold them tightly and then tie the ribbon over top to cover the band.

Truth is you won't actually smell the cinnamon just by burning a candle but you could tie them to the side of the candle with raffia or twine for a country look or you could melt the side of the candle and set the cinnamon sticks into the wet wax. A better way to acquire a nice scent is to simmer a little water on your stove and add the cinnamon sticks along with some cloves or orange rind if you have it. Just let it simmer. Will make your house smell great.
4. put a rubber band around the candle at the top and the bottom, insert the cinnamon sticks under the rubber bands. use a ribbon or raffia and tie it in the center of the candle...cut the rubber bands and ta da!!!
5. Use candle wax from another candle. Drip the hot wax on the side of the candle then just stick the Cinnamon sticks to it.
